What Advice would you give your Younger Self?

I threw a question out on Facebook last week and the comments were amazing!

What advice would you give your younger self?

This is one of those things I think about a lot.

Chances are you’ve had experiences in the last 5, 10 or 20 years that you wish you had a little more foresight with.  Good, bad, difficult, exhilarating or even mundane.  You may wish you could tell yourself to take more risks, take less risks, be courageous, be careful, love yourself more, exercise frequently, read more books – or even more specific things, like don’t get pregnant at 16 (in the case of one of my Facebook followers!) etc.

RECAP: The Gorgeous Interiors in Rosieteapot Issues 1,2 & 3

I am so grateful to these women for letting us into their home.  I thought it would be quite cool to go over the homes for the last three issues of Rosieteapot as a reminder to my current readers to bookmark these women & to serve as a taster to future readers!

Charley Taylor of The Charley girl was the first interior featured in the magazine, the first person interviewed AND the first cover.  I love her eclectic taste and how she arranges her special & quirky treasures.

Here is a taste of a few of the images featured in Issue 1 of Rosieteapot Magazine:

Cupcakes, Geisha’s & Coffee – OH MY!

I actually created these fun, cupcakes / mini-muffins last year.   At the time, I just felt like making something colourful for the kids.  (“Geisha’s” in the title refers to the fabric I used as the tablecloth)

And you know what?  I could pretend that I made them from scratch, but to be honest, I just realised I used a cupcake mix at the time!!   Go on, judge me!!  MUAHAHA  (<– evil laughter)

Simple Slowcooker Recipe: Corned Beef

My friend Zeb has been really getting into her Slowcooker / crockpot recently, and I just remembered I was going to share one of my favourite slowcooker recipes with her.  It occurred to me I should share it with the class!

Corned Beef is by no means the sexiest foods on the planet… in fact, it’s probably in an “Unsexiest Foods” list somewhere in Internet land!  BUT, when you cook it slowly, it can be very edible – and not just edible – good!!

It’s not just a Winter meal either – serve in Summer with a nice Coleslaw or serve in a sandwich with some mustard.  Yum yum!
